Privacy Policy

Who we are

Rekounts and this website (rekounts.com) are operated by Rekreate Digital, a software studio based in the Philippines. For anything in this policy, you can reach us by opening an issue on the Rekounts GitHub repository or through rekreatedigital.com.

This website

rekounts.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or trackers, offers no accounts, has no forms, and loads everything — fonts, code, images — from its own domain. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data through this site, and nothing on it profiles you.

Like virtually every website, the server that hosts these pages may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and request times) to run and secure the service. We do not use such logs to identify visitors, and we add no logging of our own. Your theme choice (light/dark), if you toggle it, is stored only in your own browser.

The app

The Rekounts app runs entirely on your device. Your voice is processed in your computer's memory and is never written to disk or sent to us — or to anyone. Your dictation history, dictionary and settings are stored in plain files on your own machine, and you can clear or disable history at any time. We never receive any of it.

The app makes exactly two requests of its own: downloading a speech model from the project's own release servers (once per model, verified against a SHA-256 hash), and checking for updates — when you click “Check for Updates”, or once per launch if you switch on the optional automatic check, which is off until you do. Separately, “Help”, “Send Feedback” and clicking an update notification hand a page to your web browser or a message to your mail client, already written and not yet sent — those requests are made by your browser or mail client, not by the app, and it never sees the answer. Those requests go to GitHub's infrastructure and are covered by GitHub's own privacy statement; they carry no personal data beyond what any web request includes. Your rights

Privacy laws such as the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and similar laws elsewhere give you rights over personal data an organization holds about you — access, correction, deletion, and others. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing for us to act on; if you believe we hold something about you, contact us and we will check and respond. If you write to us (for example, in a GitHub issue), we see what you chose to send and use it only to respond. If you are in the Philippines, you may also raise concerns with the National Privacy Commission.

Children

We collect no data from anyone — including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Given how the site and app are built, changes should be rare and boring.
